DESCRIPTION:OCBC's Housing Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday\, August 18\, from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM (PST). \nOur discussion will focus on the impacts of AB 130 and SB 131 from last year's CEQA reform package and explore the opportunities and challenges of these bills in practice. The lack of housing supply is one of the primary reasons for high housing costs in Orange County and California\, and the weaponization of CEQA has been a major culprit in constraining it. The policy shift is critical\, but this meeting will help us better understand the direct impact. The meeting will begin with a presentation by OCBC Housing Committee Co-Chair Ben Rubin\, Esq.\, Land Use and Environmental Partner at Nossaman LLP\, followed by a panel discussion with Jeff Montejano\, CEO of the Building Industry Association of Southern California\, and Benjamin Zdeba\, Deputy City Manager\, City of Newport Beach. \nWe encourage you to attend or share this with a colleague who would be the best representative for your organization. \nAccepting the calendar invitation does not serve as an RSVP.
